Gary Snyder (Japhy Ryder)

In Dharma Bums, the character Japhy Ryder is Jack Keruoac's version of Gary Snyder who was also a Beat. Gary Snyder was a Pulitzer-Prize winning poet. After listening to a lot of Keruoac's poetry, it was nice to look at another Beat poet whose poetry is somewhat different.

    Great video. Give me more of your personal insights/readings/reactions of the video you're posting in relation to the text of Dharma Bums, the real Snyder vs. the character of Ryder, his oral delivery in relation to Kerouac's, et al, etc. Thanks
