After watching this video I started thinking about how it might relate to Beattitude. I was thinking that perhaps the man under the bridge might represent the dharma bum. At first sight he seems like a filthy, smelly bum. However, he is not the one committing the crime. Instead it is the "up standing", well dressed, well to do, individuals that are the ones throwing a dead body over the bridge. Therefore perhaps the man under the bridge is the one that we should be striving to emulate. He is the one that has decided to leave the material world behind, instead choosing a life of contemplation, spiritual enlightenment,and social awareness. He is the individual that most represents the ideas expressed within "Beattitudes, not the well dressed gangsters.
